That's pretty funny. I've seen this before, but I forgot how it went.
Thanks, whoever submitted this.

This is great. I finally know what commercial Futurama was parodying, and it's a great classic example of 80's awesome cyberpunk culture.

This is a classic commercial. It aired for the first time during the SuperBowl and was immediately an advertising classic. Did wonders for Apple sales and began IBM's downward slide in the PC sector.

Who's the woman in the commercial?
p5ychop3nguin - June 18, 2006, 01:06
Booo IBM is turning people int mindless drones! Down with IBM up with the New Macintosh!!!
Wait, It's not still 1984??

One of film director Ridley Scott's most famous cinematic moments was a television commercial he directed for the Macintosh computer, that aired in 1984. Even though this commercial only aired once, it has become famous and well-known, to the point where it is considered a classic television moment.

I'm actually in this commercial. I was playing one of the guards. The "slaves" were all Millwall skinheads, and many were Neo nazis. They would do nazi salutes every now and then. Directed by Ridley Scott, who is a perfectionist. Even his tea has to be served at exactly the right temperature.

This made me feel warm and fuzzy.

He, he. I can see them coming... down.

This was one of the most productive commercials ever!! It also holds the record for most spent on a commercial.

Long story short, Macintosh came out with a computer full of hype, then went on to fail in the PC market against the Windows OS. I find it funny that they paint non-mac users as mindwashed and facist-like, yet alot of computer owners use their PCs for illegal (definently not conformist) activities.

"why on earth does mac only have ONE MOUSE BUTTON???!!!"
I'm getting tired of people saying this. The Mac have had suport for contextual menus (right-clicking) for ages.
