Holy mother of hot dogs. That is some serious impact. Makes our every day life seem kind of silly.

Then we all die big deal/whatever.

This would surely drive stock prices down, right? :)

Good animation! In truth an asteroid impact wouldn't be anything like the movies. You wouldn't see a flaming ball crashing down to the earth, all you would see is a bright white light and then oblivion.
Boom (guest)  -  October 24, 2008, 23:57
The asteroid of this animating is far bigger than 500km as noted.. atleast it seems like it.

fake

I concur with Boom. And for the statement that evidence suggests that it has happened at least 6 times... well divide the size with 50 and we are probably closer to the truth. The meteorite that hit the earth at the end of the cretaceous period (about 65 million years ago) is estimated to have been around 10km. The last time the earth was hit by something that the video suggests is probably during its formation.

1st the asteroid in the video is about 1000km size i would say, regarding the animation and if that happened 6 times in earth's history then there would be no life on it :)

be good and obedient to god, so that even if it happens, you'll be in good hands after you die.
