They already got something similar in the Special forces, it's a set of wings and 2 small jet engines that allow them to fly 200km from point where they where drop of the airplane/helicopter ;)

Nice way of flaying.. To bad you can do that only if you jump out something and catch the air currents... Sadly such tiny engines can't fight with gravity and actualy lift someone... But slow porgress is being made...

He was maintaining 2 km until the tanks ran out! That is something the military might want too? Although I guess you couldnt do that with the full kit on.
