Kinda cool. But in the end...does a real rallycarseat move like that. Talk about busted suspensions...and look at the nerd behind the wheel! As close to driving a real one, he will ever get.

No it doesnt but it feels like if you were driving, you should try it, it works! (I have a 270bhp car and i know how it feels)

WEEE! I REALLY want one of theese. Not the same risk as to drive irl, and still fun!

The Force Dynamics seat moves that much to cause g-forces on your body, it doesn't simulate the movement of the actual vehicle, but the g-forces it causes on your body while driving.
fleep (guest) - May 10, 2006, 06:41
kinda cool

Kinda nice. Not easy to get your hands on though

Someone having too much money? :) I want a similar machine!
carnage (guest) - May 27, 2006, 12:54
i want that

at my airport there is soemthing like that but it is a flight simulator, and it is crazy fun.
The machine can do a complete barrel roll (full 360 degrees), and since it is suspended in the middle it can do a complete flip as well (360 degrees too).
SOoooooo fun.

I had the privilege of testing one of these at the motorsport expo in Stockholm last year, I don't know if it's worth the pricetag (I heard 30 000 USD) but it's definately a heap of fun.
Like Mikael said, the intent isn't to mimic the motion of the car but rather to simulate the motion of the car.
When I tested it it wasn't Richard Burns Rally that was used, but FIA GTR (I drove the Saleen S7 on the Monza GP track).
I've never driven a 600+ bhp sportscar so I can't vouch for whether or not it was life-like, but I can tell you that the seat makes you feel like you are actually in the car. Acceleration pushes you back and deceleration almost throws you forward, and going over kerbs, bumps and crests you can feel exactly how the car is moving.
Like I said, not exactly sure if it's worth the 30 000 USD pricetag, but if I had the money I would not hesitate to buy one :D

DAm dude, try that thing on NFS:MW. Hit the NOS and fricken the seat would send ya flyin backwards =D

I'll take 2 thanks

Isse, the reason the machine goes all crazy in the end is because the car ended up on the roof. Obviously, this machine can't turn the seat upside down, the best it can do is to tip the seat as far as possible to whichever direction that is best. In this case it was to the right. :)
Man, this would have been so friggin awsome together with the upcoming Forza Motorsport 2! I'd buy one on the spot if I had the money.

this is awesome! brings gravity into the equation! Although its limited to 1g, most cars dont have the traction or power to pull more than 1g. Actually im not even sure this perticular machine can emulate 1g, for that to happen the seat would need to be tilted 90 degrees (you would be lookin straight up on accel g force, and straight down on decel) but it doesnt seem this machine has that range of movement.
