pwled (guest) - June 6, 2006, 00:31
Actually, a HP scanner has a special command to let the stepper motor play notes :P

fake (guest) - July 7, 2006, 09:50

L0nghair64 (guest) - July 11, 2006, 09:32
pwled is right :P
blah (guest) - July 11, 2006, 20:55
hahaha. Hey idiots, this is no . This is easily done by controlling the stepper motor speed.
Serveck (guest) - July 20, 2006, 02:52
what the hell is with you people saying this is ! you just dont want to belive what you see. and yes it is infact real because that is a HP scanner and it CAN make those sounds, this guy just had too much free time.
firebird07 - July 24, 2006, 06:59
Nothing like a little office Beethoven in the morning lol
Killa (guest) - July 25, 2006, 21:01
Serveck, your words are damned right. Just because some ppl can't hear and discern the sounds, and don't know mechanical sounds doesn't mean it's (that's why those ppl are lousy at music and can't even sing right. they just don't have an ear for it). It's cool, but it takes a lot of skill to fit the sounds of the printer movement to the notes... someone did a lot of work. for all those who think this is , forget about career as a singer or musician

toomuchsparetime.com?
Falc (guest) - September 1, 2006, 00:08
LOL i tried it, took me 2 min to find a program to do it, and about 5 min to program it ... so drop the "toomuchsparetime" thing ... its a clever idea atleast!
Deleted0001 - September 5, 2006, 18:53
I've always felt my scanner one day would sing along.
Mike (guest) - September 10, 2006, 05:51
God, I hate how everyone thinks everything is , first you should think, why would someone want to this? Is there any reason? Also you shold think, is it possible, which this is by the way, and based on that make your conclusion. Dont just leave ""
Nitro350Z (guest) - October 29, 2006, 05:18
I say it's possible, others have provided some of the facts.
I say definetly not photoshoped.
I'm just wondering, how does everone leave the fish symbol, and what exactly does it mean, I'm assuming photoshop, but is that true, and how can you do include it into a comment?

Secret agent man (guest) - November 24, 2006, 23:23
My 1541 floppy discdrive for my C64 could also play tunes, yet it contains no speakers. The tunes are created by varying the speed of the motors thus creating vibrations at different frequencies.
arleas - November 29, 2006, 05:39
like secret agent, i remember programming my disk drive (1571 in my case) to play notes... it wasn't then and it's not now... saying should just autoban your ip

^RunQaBalle^ (guest) - December 14, 2006, 21:15
Maybe maybe not... But that was quite cool to listen a scanner playing the Fur Elise! :D Altough, it could be that the scanner was hacked in some way or another, or they were playing that song somewhere else and the scanner was just a . Still it was cool! It would be a quite lucky if the scanner does that accidentally and you can even take a video record of it... ;D
Johnny Butt (guest) - January 24, 2007, 05:50
Are you fucking kidding me?!!!
david z (guest) - March 18, 2007, 00:29
My friend got a scanner about 12 years ago, and it came with an application to run that did exactly this.
Facade (guest) - April 11, 2007, 22:48
? why does the word fa-ke apear as a space ship
Tha man (guest) - December 25, 2007, 00:59
WOW impressive... but the guy who made this will never die... cuz he got no life.
But for thoose who are thinking how its possible he probably is controling the step motor of the scanner with some cnc software or he made his own stepping motor driver and its using a cnc software.
Fake? Where? (guest) - January 24, 2009, 12:14
Lol... People who say it's a thing are so ignorant... well, then again they either didn't go to university or went somewhere that has nothing to do with mechanics and never heard about such a thing...
