I'm feeling sick just watching it, not that i'm afraid of heights I just has an enourmouos respect for it, I feel that he's going to fall any time. but I guess he knows what he's doing but I would never do something like that.

i'm sure the guy's really good, still the way it's filmed looks to me pretty fake. i didnt know there were so many dowels up there.

Hu, I would never ever be able to do something like that. In some ways people are very different.

The guy on the shelf in the beginning is Tim O'Neill. These guys know exactly what they are doing even though The Nose on El Cap is not the hardest climb around.

 mrdudepants  -  October 23, 2006, 13:09
i feel sick just looking at it, i've been climing before but it's nothing compared to that!!!!!!! I reckon he'll die in a yr or less cause 1 mistake means a plummett of like 3-5000ft!!!!!!! if I were him, I would stop climing at that hight because i'd done it already. I still would go climing but in an indoor climing centre lol, or one with an instructor and built in safety ropes!
huhhh (guest)  -  April 21, 2007, 17:06

Awsome, but there's no way that guy's still alive
Si (guest)  -  October 5, 2008, 07:55
It's a great example of 'no limiting beliefs'. If you had a 6ft long 4" by 2" bit of wood, 1 foot off the ground, you could walk across it no problem, you wouldn't fall, your body can keep you balanced with ease....now try doing that same walk 200ft in the air (take wind out of the equation) you wouldn't risk it...however you would be able to do it. He's researched and trained for what he does, a calculated risk, but still safe. However..sod that!! It's also a great metaphore for many things in our lives.
