i watched a few of these shows recently. that guy is a fisherman actually. in the first minute in the bottom left corner you can see some footage of him on his boat.

a fisherman. yup! they have gymnists, trampolinists, gas station attendants, fisherman, cops, firefights, and many others attempting this. each year 100 sign up to try it and it gets knocked down to about 17-20 in round one. then round two drops a few more, etc etc. only a couple guys have ever completed all four stages. and the course slightly changes each year, but basically its the same.

Fisherman my butt! Did you see that boat? If they use that for fishing, I'd hate to see the fish they catch! ;] Must be JDF or something like that. This guy's gotta be the Japanese equivalent of a Navy Seal.

Wow, astounding, impressive, I'm blown away, my mouth was gaping as I saw this dude perform impossible feat after impossible feat. I thought all that stuff a la Ninja Scrolls was <img src="fake.gif" alt="fake">, but after seeing this...! ;] W-O-W!

Well the show is named さすけ　in japan but on g4tv they call it ninja warrior and they just subtitle it
