Goldfish have 3sek memory...!!!
Ljunge (guest) - March 13, 2006, 23:08
You can't say that EVERY goldfish out there has a 3 second memory, there must be some outstanders, and the memory can be trained.
MB (guest) - March 14, 2006, 12:59
A steel pellet in it's belly & magnets under the table....
Sarah (guest) - March 21, 2006, 20:18
Actually they have proved now that they have a longer memory then that.
Bigun (guest) - March 22, 2006, 00:45
Oh yeah, they proved that they had a longer memory than three seconds. That was old science! They are up to almost 1 minute of memory now! French scientists beleive that in a few years goldfish may be able to walk on the moon! And that is good since the French can't get into outer space by themselves.
M-J (guest) - March 22, 2006, 06:17
Yeah, they proved the 3sec memory wrong in mythbusters :P
Bjösken (guest) - March 24, 2006, 04:25

FiskeN (guest) - April 2, 2006, 22:44
That's just bullshit talk that goldfishes got a few sec memory. Just a myth. I have worked with water and sea creatures in my whole life and I can tell you that that's total bullshit!
Jessu - April 24, 2006, 03:06
How the hell do you train a fish?
VORTEX_Ro (guest) - May 1, 2006, 19:26
Stupid fish
Skanking (guest) - August 10, 2006, 23:07
Wow.. Impressive
costre (guest) - August 26, 2006, 21:40
I agree with FiskeN ... since we're both right, and we're both swedes ;) Actually, pretty much everything you think you know is wrong. the goldfish memory is just one of the things people hear one time, and then clings onto like grim death.
UtopiA (guest) - August 28, 2006, 06:08

its pretty obvious that goldfish only got 3 seconds of memory othervise u wouldnt keep them in small fucking glassbowls......they would go complete insane
Niedec (guest) - September 1, 2006, 07:46
For those that are arguing about the attention span of goldfish, please remember what the goldfish are doing. They're following his hand and the shadows. In other cases, they follow the ripples in the water. Basically, they're following instinct, and the "trainer" just sort of plays with it to make it a sort of routine. Pretty interesting, really. And I believe Mythbusters tested the goldfish myth about the three second memory. I've never seen it, though.
jack (guest) - September 3, 2006, 19:33

Check an episode of myth busters, when they check the myth "Do goldfish have an 3second memory?" well the result is no. The gold fish is acctually pretty smart
Fido (guest) - April 17, 2007, 17:18
"its pretty obvious that goldfish only got 3 seconds of memory othervise u wouldnt keep them in small fucking glassbowls......they would go complete insane"
Hahaha, I bet you are a religous american! Lots of things that you "know" that aren't so!
RB (guest) - June 22, 2008, 19:56
...look at the shallow bowl of water the fish are in...definitely done using magnets and steel pellets placed in the fish...shallow dish was necessary to keep the fish in close proximity to the magnet under the table...
